ABOUT US

My name is Roo Yori, and I've created WOD (Workout Of the Day) for Dogs in honor of my dog Wallace the Pit Bull.  Wallace was a shelter dog that we adopted in 2005.  We discovered he loved chasing Frisbees, and went on to become the 2006 Cynosport World Champions and 2007 Purina Incredible Dog Challenge National Champions in the sport of Canine Flying Disc.  Wallace's life is a true underdog story in every sense.  Wallace was faced with obstacle after obstacle, and each time he took on the challenges to rise above them all.  He has inspired people all over the globe, and is proof that we shouldn't judge a dog by what they look like or where they may have come from.  He is also proof that there are some amazing dogs waiting in shelters across the country for their chance to shine.

On August 23, 2013 Wallace passed after a long and valient fight from 2 different terminal cancers.  We have set up Wallace the Pit Bull Foundation to help other dogs like him in his honor.  WOD for Dogs is a fundraiser to benefit Wallace the Pit bull Foundation.  We are working toward opening our own facility to be able to help dogs first hand.  In addition, we support other programs across the country that work hard to improve the lives of shelter dogs.  An example is that in 2013, through the WOD for Dog fundraiser, we were able to donate $5,000 to New Mexico Pets Alive for fencing materials.  This allowed them to have play yards to implement the Playing for Life playgroup program.  We have the opportunity to help a lot of dogs through our efforts, so I invite you to get on board and help this get bigger and better each and every year!
